Summary

Description
English: Tainan, Taiwan: The Chihkan Tower of the former Dutch Fort Provintia in Tainan, the old capital of Taiwan. It was built in 1653. The nine steles in front of the building commemorate the crushing of the Lin-Shuangwen uprise in 1788. They are mounted on the back of sculptures of turtles, the symbol of longevity.
