Portrait of Jane Austen
Date
Source
University of Texas Libraries Duyckinick, Evert A. Portrait Gallery of Eminent Men and Women in Europe and America. New York: Johnson, Wilson & Company, 1873.
NOTE: This is a heavily Victorianized version of a somewhat rudimentary sketch of Jane Austen by her sister Cassandra -- a sketch which was generally not considered too successful by those who had known Jane Austen. So the faithfulness of this attempted portrait must remain somewhat doubtful.
