Summary

Description
English: Estimated IMM of shaking for settlements in Ecuador due to the earthquake of 16 April 2016. The source of energy release is a line outlined by the aftershocks (approximately the extent of the red dots) at 20 km depth. The epicenter is artificially put at the center of this line source to mark the center of the energy release. Attenuation of seismic waves is assumed slightly larger than average to approximately match the reported Intensities.
