[[United States Army Special Forces|Army Special Forces]], commonly known as Green Berets after their iconic headgear, are among the most elite soldiers in the Army. Special Forces conduct [[Unconventional warfare (United States)|unconventional warfare]], enabling a resistance movement or insurgency to coerce, disrupt, or overthrow a government or occupying power by operating through or with an underground force in a denied area, [[foreign internal defense]], training and equipping foreign allied military forces to defend against insurgency, subversion, terrorism, and other security threats, and [[security force assistance]], training and developing the defense capabilities of friendly and developing nations.
