When Trump left the White House in January 2021, he took government documents and material with him to Mar-a-Lago. By May 2021, the [[National Archives and Records Administration]] (NARA) realized that important documents had not been turned over to them and asked his office to locate them. In January 2022, they retrieved 15 boxes of White House records from Mar-a-Lago.
