More than one half of metro Atlanta's population is in unincorporated areas or areas considered a [[Census-designated place|census-designated-place]] (CDP) by the census bureau. One notable example is [[East Cobb, Georgia|East Cobb]], an unincorporated area (though not a CDP) adjacent to [[Marietta, Georgia|Marietta]] and [[Roswell, Georgia|Roswell]] in Cobb County.
