Do not fill this in! ====Strother Field==== In [[World War II]], Winfield, along with neighboring [[Arkansas City, Kansas|Arkansas City]], became home to a military pilot training base, [[Strother Field]], which remained in operation until the end of the war, bringing several thousand military personnel into the area.
