Mother's Day

Mother's Day is celebrated on 16 November as a [[List of public holidays in North Korea|public holiday in North Korea]]. The date takes its significance from the First National Meeting of Mothers held in 1961, for which [[Kim Il Sung]], the [[Leader of North Korea|leader of the country]], published a work called ''The Duty of Mothers in the Education of Children''.
