The standard [[Gregorian calendar]] is used for most purposes. The year is often denoted by the Minguo [[calendar era|era system]] which starts in 1912, the year the ROC was founded. 2023 is year 112 Minguo (民國112年). Prior to standardization in 1929, the [[Chinese calendar]] was officially used.
