The editor and co-publisher of ''The Riverdale Press'', Bernard Stein, won the [[Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Writing]] for his editorials about Bronx and New York City issues in 1998. (Stein graduated from the [[Bronx High School of Science]] in 1959.) The Bronx once had its own daily newspaper, ''[[The Bronx Home News]]'', which started publishing on January 20, 1907, and merged into the ''[[New York Post]]'' in 1948.
