Just two weeks after his suspension from the ANC, the ANC alliance partner, [[South African National Civics Organisation|SANCO]], in KZN announced on 16 February 2024 that it had expelled Zuma because of absenteeism. Zuma had served as provincial chairperson of SANCO since 19 November 2023 after being elected unopposed in absentia at the organisation's conference in [[Durban]].
