In [[Hindu texts]], death is described as the individual eternal spiritual ''[[Jiva|jiva-atma]]'' (soul or conscious self) exiting the current temporary material body. Usually, the process of [[Reincarnation#Hinduism|reincarnation]] makes one forget all memories of one's previous life.
