* [[January 27]] – U.S. President [[Donald Trump]] signs an [[Executive Order 13769|executive order]] restricting travel and immigration from seven Muslim-majority countries. This order was blocked by the [[U.S. federal courts]]; a second, related order issued by Trump was also blocked by the federal courts. The block of second order was partially removed, by the Supreme Court, in June. The Supreme Court stated they would reconsider the order in October.
