Do not fill this in! ======Strother Field====== In 1942, as America entered [[World War II]], Winfield, along with neighboring [[Arkansas City, Kansas|Arkansas City]], began development of a shared municipal airport. However, the entry of the U.S. into the war led to military acquisition and completion of the airfield, which became [[Strother Field]].
