The racial makeup of the city was 80.4% [[White American|White]], 13.2% [[African American]], 0.3% [[Native Americans in the United States|Native American]], 1.1% [[Asian American|Asian]], 1.9% from [[Race and ethnicity in the United States Census#Race|other races]], and 3.0% from [[Multiracial American|two or more races]]. [[Hispanic and Latino Americans|Hispanics or Latinos]] of any race were 4.1% of the population.

The median age in the city was 37.3 years. 23.2% of residents were under the age of 18; 8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 29.2% were from 25 to 44; 27.5% were from 45 to 64; and 11.9% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 48.8% male and 51.2% female.

The racial makeup of the city was 82.50% [[White American|White]], 13.68% [[African American]], 0.27% [[Native Americans in the United States|Native American]], 0.84% [[Asian American|Asian]], 0.08% [[Pacific Islands American|Pacific Islander]], 0.65% from [[Race and ethnicity in the United States Census#Race|other races]], and 1.97% from [[Multiracial American|two or more races]]. [[Hispanic and Latino Americans|Hispanics or Latinos]] of any race were 1.80% of the population.
