On July 7, 2014, [[Wang Jing (businessman)|Wang Jing]], chairman of the [[HK Nicaragua Canal Development Investment|HK Nicaragua Canal Development Investment Co. Ltd. (HKND Group)]] advised that a route for Nicaragua's proposed canal had been approved.
