[[U.S. Route 83 in Texas|U.S. Route 83]] passes through the center of Hamlin as Central Avenue, leading north {{convert|18|mi}} to [[Aspermont, Texas|Aspermont]] and southeast {{convert|17|mi}} to [[Anson, Texas|Anson]], the Jones County seat. [[Abilene, Texas|Abilene]] is {{convert|42|mi}} to the southeast. [[Texas State Highway 92]] crosses Hamlin as Lake Drive, leading east {{convert|20|mi}} to [[Stamford, Texas|Stamford]] and west 20 miles to [[Rotan, Texas|Rotan]].
