There are active and visible LGBT student organisations at South African universities, including the [[University of the Witwatersrand]], the [[University of Cape Town]], the [[University of Stellenbosch]], the [[University of Johannesburg]] and the [[University of the Western Cape]], amongst others. [[Simon Nkoli]], [[Zackie Achmat]] and [[Funeka Soldaat]] are some of the more prominent LGBT rights activists in South Africa.
