Oshawa is home to the [[Oshawa Generals]] of the [[Ontario Hockey League]]. In 2015, the Oshawa Generals won the Ontario Hockey League Championship, and ended their season winning the [[2015 Memorial Cup]].

Famous [[Oshawa Generals#NHL alumni|alumni]] of this team include [[Bobby Orr]], [[Alex Delvecchio]], [[Wayne Cashman]], [[Tony Tanti]], [[Dave Andreychuk]], [[Marc Savard]], [[Eric Lindros]], and [[John Tavares (ice hockey)|John Tavares]]. The team moved from the [[Oshawa Civic Auditorium]] into the new [[General Motors Centre]] in November 2006. The Oshawa Generals' home arena has been destroyed by fire twice in the franchise history. In June 1928, the Bradley Arena was destroyed by fire.
