Do not fill this in! == History == Fayette County was created on May 15, 1821, from territory ceded to the United States by the [[Creek people]], who had historically inhabited the area. In 2002 Charles "Chuck" Floyd was appointed to the position of Chief Magistrate Judge of the county. In 2004 and 2008, he was elected to the position in his own right, the first African American ever elected to any office in the county.
